Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!  I had to work Thanksgiving, but luckily will be able to meet up with family later on tonight.

I know our dogs have a lot to be thankful for.  I’ve gone on an Amazon spending spree and bought them a bunch of toys.  Mainly tug toys and some “indestructible” chew toys, but also some treat toys as well.  We got a long package dropped off and when I opened it the first thing that came to mind was “gigantic dildo”.  It was actually a very long, rubber tug toy, but it is an unfortunate shade of pink that brings to mind adult sex toys.  It took me a moment to figure out what it really was.  Bad choice of color, Kong manufacturers!

The West Paw toys seem to be holding up really well so far.  I hear they are one of the best toys in the sense that they are difficult to break down.  We also bought some rope tug toys but those have to be supervised because Benny will just sit there and chew on them and shred them to pieces.

Speaking of our dogs, I was so mad at them the other night.  Jesse, Ezra and I had gone to Costco for a couple hours and we left the dogs loose in the house.  When we got home I saw a Ross tag on the carpet but figured it was a leftover from when Ezra threw a party with my Ross tags and scattered them everywhere.  Next I saw a chewed up Adidas tag, and I hadn’t sold a pair of Adidas shorts in quite some time.  I looked into the dresser where I keep some clothes to be sold but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.  A few minutes later the thought occurred to me I should check their dog area outside.  I went outside and found about five pairs of Adidas shorts strewn through our mud-packed dog area.  These were new shorts, mind you, that still had on their tags.  I was PISSED!  I picked them up and took them inside and they all had dirt smears on them, so now I have to remove the remaining tags, wash them, and then put them back up for sale as pre-owned instead of new, and that really affects the price I can get for them.  Not to mention that because they hadn’t been moving as stock I was going to take them back to the store for store credit, which I now cannot do.  So yeah, those were a loss of income.  The crazy thing is, the dogs had to have opened the dresser drawer to pull out the shorts.  Velvet said we should get those child safety locks, and I may just do that.  Bad dogs!

We cut off Ezra’s mohawk for the winter.  I’m not sure if we’ll cut it again in the spring or just leave it alone.  He has the cutest curls when his hair dries from being freshly washed, but his overnight bed head is pretty crazy.  It has this frizzled quality to it and it sticks out and this mama is lazy enough to not want to wet his hair down daily.  My own mohawk is growing out nicely but I’m not quite sure what to do with it.  It’s a bit too long to spike up so I’ve just been combing it over and calling it good.

We haven’t had a new egg from our chickens in a couple weeks, so either they are getting stolen from something or the girls are just slowing down.  Still, out of 12 hens you’d think we’d get a couple eggs a week.  Still looking to put the two non-layers on KSL to see if anyone wants them.  Two less non-producing mouths to feed.

I *think* I may have felt the baby move a week or so ago, but it could also just as easily have been a muscle twitch.  Pretty sure it was baby, but haven’t felt it again since then.  Theoretically we get to find out the gender next week, so I am excited about that.  Keeping fingers crossed the baby is not going to be shy about showing the goods.
